Group Health Plans

AvMar now offers a choice of group health insurance plans for vessels and crew on our payroll. We are happy to now be partnered with MHG Marine Benefits to provide crew health insurance through the Safe Harbor Crew plan in addition to our existing Aetna Global Benefits plan. In this ever changing industry we believed that it was necessary to provide more than one health insurance option for our clients. Both plans offer similar global coverage and competitive premiums and deductibles.

Safe Harbor Crew is offered to our non-US registered vessels with crew of three or more. The plan provides 24 hour protection including features such as Emergency Medical Evacuation, Term Life, coverage for SCUBA and Winter Sports, and optional Dental coverage. There is an extensive provider network while in the US to waive coinsurance and no coinsurance outside of the US and Canada. Enrollment and plan administration is well managed by MHG Marine Benefits.

The Aetna Global Benefits plan that AvMar offers includes Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, in addition to the medical, vision, and dental coverage. The plan of benefits further includes emergency assistance services, a 24 hour Health Information Line and additional online resources available through the AGB website. Plan administration is currently handled by the AvMar Ft. Lauderdale office.

We understand that insurance can be confusing and frustrating and try to make the entire process as painless as possible, from initial sign up to the submission of claims.
